THE OVERWHELMING FORCE OF THE EARTH: The Valley of the Volcanoes

The landscape of Chivay is the result of titanic forces. Places like the Valley of the Volcanoes shine as compelling evidence. It is, indeed, a picture so extreme that it seems to be from another

planet: more than eighty-five volcanic cones of various sizes, like outbreaks from the earth, that offer tourists a unique experience.

The Valley of the Volcanoes goes along the Andagua River, which runs from north to south over than 3,600 meters above sea level; However It has a fissure with the presence of basaltic lava, which is around 600 meters below Huambo. The formation is about two hundred thousand years old. The lava comes from the eruption of the many small volcanoes in the area, which give them their peculiar name.  In effect, if it was not for the lives that beat around with dissimulation and delicate charm. they would resemble a image taken from NASA screens, or from a visit to some remote satellite,

Among the most striking volcanoes are the Shipee and the Jonson, they are called twins due to theirsimilarity, closeness and pair development; likewise, the Chilcayoc, the Suisuya and the Chapite they stand out for their height and robust forms. However, the highest volcano is Pucamauras, which rules among the others as a general to an army.

You cannot miss this extraordinary landscape. In 2019, UNESCO declared it part of the Global geopark that also includes the very Colca Canyon itself. It is, of course, something worth seeing, a road to travel that we all can learn from it.
